The WCD knowledge base is considered one of the most comprehensive reviews of literature on and experience with large dams and their alternatives. When the results of all lines of enquiries were brought together, they yielded clear and compatible findings, and the WCD was in a position to document both the comprehensive nature of its study approach as well as the broader relevance of its findings.
