New Books, Reports, Studies in the Pipeline
Who, if anyone, will write the proverbial 'last word?'

Lest anyone imagine for even a moment that Dams and Development would have the final say about, well, dams and development, several WCD-affiliated authors are already clearing their throats.

Unlike the collectively composed Dams and Development, individual authors may write under their own names, solo, from a single perspective, expressing themselves with a freedom, perhaps, that was restrained when their collective goal was unanimous agreement by all strands of the dams debate.

Others are revising and updating their previously published books, armed with newly unearthed data. Still more reporters and researchers ­ such as Dr. Carlos Vainer, of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and Dr. Bill Fisher of Harvard University ­are conducting their own comprehensive, global, and independent studies of the WCD, just as WCD conducted the most comprehensive, global and independent review of dams...
