The Forum

Coming from 68 institutions in 36 countries, members of the Forum reflect the diverse range of interests in the dams debate. The Forum acts as a ‘sounding board’ for the work of the Commission, and helps maintain two-way communication with the various far-flung constituencies. Forum members can help to build ownership of Commission work. The WCD is also conscious that reports in themselves have little impact if they are not firmly rooted in a process that enables all interest groups to develop an understanding of and confidence in the process itself. Membership of the Forum however does not imply endorsement of the Commission’s report and findings.
